How many percent is needed to pass an English test and get a credit?

My friend got 85% on his English test and they still tell him he failed. Now I'm wondering how much you need to pass the test. If he fails the test, then he can't graduate so he promised me that he'd commit suicide o.o' anyway, please help

Do you kids seriously not know how to calculate percentage weights for your school grades? Different tests and assignments are worth different percentages of your final mark. It would depend on what your average percentage was in the class before you wrote the test that would determine the mark you would need on the test to pass the course. And if a friend tells you that he is going to kill himself if he fails an english class, he might as well off himself then because a stupid little english class mark is nothing compared to other stresses in life. I'd tell him to go ahead and do it.
