listening is a tough skill to learn. I am still learning it myself. What I try and do, is I think three seconds before I speak, so that it gives me time to think about what I am going to say. Sometimes it is hard not getting your word in, but just remember that the other person has to listen to you when you speak, so you have to listen to them when they speak. Listen to British or American radio. Even if you do not pay attention all the time your listening skills will improve slowly but surely ...

I often use online resources designed to help improve English listening comprehension skills, listen to radio such as BBC and NPR everyday, and sometimes watch movies or TV shows. And also I'm very diligent in reading newspapers and books in English to expand my knowledge about everything.
