What is all this unclaimed scholarship money people talk about?

Spot - 2010-02-12 12:42:41 - Financial Aid

Is this just a myth? It seems that there is a lot of competition for every scholarship. So if anyone knows about these "unclaimed" monies then could you please share? I find it hard to believe that all of these scholarships are just laying around and no one is applying for them.

Best Answer:

There are tons of scholarships that no one applies for. I went to Barnes and Noble the beginning to middle of my Senior in high school and got a book called "The Scholarship Book." It is around $30-$50 and it lists every single scholarship available. And it is not just for seniors in high school but also for college students. The book also comes with a CD and there are even more scholarships on the CD. So you should definitely go get that book. Good Luck.

They're weird. Like the Chick and Sophie Major Memorial Duck Calling Contest. This is open to any high school senior in the US who is adept at calling ducks. The winner, gets a $1,500 scholarship, with first runner up getting $500, second runner-up getting $300, and third runner-up getting $200. You can google Weird scholarship funds and see a whole bunch of them.
