How do I apply for a University Scholarship? Is there a limit to how many I can apply for?

Im a Sophomore at a California high school and I want to apply to Harvard. But after seeing a yearly cost of $45,600, I wasn't so sure. I know I can apply for Scholarships but I dont know how to do that. I also am a Cancer survivor and heard that you can get a Scholarship for that as well. How do I apply for these, would I have to write an essay?

First off, I don't know if you're aware of it, but Harvard is one of a handful of competitive schools that offer full tuition coverage for students from low income families (I think they consider low income to be anyone who is basically middle class or lower - the last time I heard, it was around $60k/year household income and under). You can also ask your high school guidance counselor about scholarships and visit Fastweb to do scholarship searches. Harvard's own financial aid office will be able to help you in your search if you're admitted. Another resource is AheadAtGraduation.com, where you can apply instantly for a $10k scholarship that is not based on GPA (and the funds can be used at any school). If you're still having trouble after that, check with your local librarian. I know most people ignore libraries with the internet, but they're actually pretty helpful with some things :)
