For what i have know so far, TOEFL are for the people whose first language is not English. In Singapore, our first language is English.. so im not obliged to take up this. Anyway, can help me to solve my confusion? Thanks!

Best Answer:

The ACT (w/ writing) and/or the SAT. Check out NYU's requirements: http://admissions.nyu.edu/applying.for.admissions/freshman/international.applicants.html

My friends all took the TOEFL that were in your situation. Unfortunately for you the requirements vary from university to university. You must contact each university you intended to apply to and ask to speak to their University Advising Center about your situation. Best of luck, Merry Christmas! =]

First of all, before asking general questions, do some research and see which Universities you would like to attend, given your grades, preferences, and finances. Next, when you have a list of 5-10 schools, go to their sites or call and asked them to mail you more information. Their sites should provide you will all the info you will need though. Each schools may have specific requirements, so using your list, jot down what you will need to do for each. You may need the TOEFL, it is required for non-natives, and test your ability to understand standard AMERICAN english.
