Living in Mexico, you might frequent places where you will find Americans. Then you can converse with them or at least listen. Would not suggest radio talk shows as their grammar and English usually are not up to grade, ya know (very bad and so prevalent on talk shows). Old classic movies could help you as they did not use much slang. Best to make friends with Americans--educated people who speak correctly. On TV today some of the shows have great speakers such as Meet the Press, News with Katy Couric, or PBS--public television which is very educational.

start off slowly, pronounce every letter. like, f-u-n-n-y then bring it together. pronounce t's, not that i do. Dont be lazy about speaking, also the right language is good, cos lazy language makes your pronunciation bad

the best thing i can say is that you listen to tv, watch movies or radio, in english and pay attention to the way they pronounce every word and try to keep in mind. If you do that for several times then your ear will get used to those words.

try looking for a tutor to help you. they are usually very reasonable and a good way to boost your learning rate.

Reading out loud helps if you can find a place where no-one will bother you. Find some way to learn phonics, through a tutor or something. You really must see every word as a series of the letters that make them up and practice pronouncing them. This is phonics and it helps your spelling tremendously. Good luck.

Watch english films, with subtitles in your own language. Most english dictionaries have Phonetic spelling after the word before the definition. Check the begining of the dictionary for notes on how to read this.

Your local library has books on audiotape. Listen to these. Also read out loud when you are by yourself.
