Does it cost more to air condition a home in FL or heat a home in MA? Oil to heat the house in MA is $5/gallon... is FL cheaper?

Since oil prices are so high, it would probably cost more to heat the house in MA. AC is not really cheap but not near as high as oil prices. The insulation in the house also is a factor.

It depends on the home, and the system. Keep in mind that Florida summers can be brutal not only because of the heat but because of the humidity. But if the home is built and insulated well, either expense will be lower.
