The TOEFL is just a test to evaluate your level in English. It would help in your application for University or some colleges who require it. It does not matter at all for your financial aid. Basically your TOEFL score says at what your level you are in English.

If you are a foreign student and wish to study in the the states then you must take the TOEFL exam. Each university or college has the score required to get admitted into that school. The TOEFL test is given to test your level of English, but more than that it is a test to see how well you will get along in the college/university setting. There academic as well as social situations/questions given. If you need any other questions answered about the test just e-mail me. Good luck!

You are misunderstanding the purpose of the TOEFL. The TOEFL is not a credential for applying for financial aid nor does it lead to scholarships or grants based on the score alone. The TOEFL is a requirement, by law, that all international students who are citizens of country where English is not the first language, must take in order to gain admission to a university in an English speaking country. Most instiutions in the U.K, U.S, Canada, Australia and New Zealand will accept TOEFL scores, however all except the United States prefer the IELTS.
