wash your face twice a day, don't touch your face with dirty hands. also use proactive if you can get it, it works very well there's a commercial on tv that says you can get it for 20$, i payed much more for it about a year ago. good luck

There is no 100%, permenant way. That's why there are so many facewashes out there.

Acne is nothing that has a permanent solution. If you don't have it extremely bad, I would recommend Proactiv Solution, a facial cleansing kit that motivates you to wash your face every morning and night. Moderate acne is caused by natural-occuring oils in your facial pores whose purpose is to hydrate your pores, but in people who have moderate acne, more oil is created than necessary for the above purpose. Cleansing your face day and night with a non-abrasive cleanser like Proactiv cleanses your skin of the extra unncecessary amounts of oil, but also helps to guard against drying your pores out, which can be a cause of premature aging of the skin. For you, acutaine or generic versions of this medicine is not appropriate; the prescription is appropriate only for those individuals suffering from heavy amounts of acne. People who suffer from only moderate acne can benefit from avoiding this because acutaine requires that you get blood tests monthly to check for high amounts of triglycerides, which can cause liver damage or liver cancer. Like I said, not something you want to go on if you don't need it. By the way, touching your face with dirty hands has little to do with your acne. For those who don't already know, oil doesn't naturally occur in your fingertips; we get our fingerprints (oil signatures) by attracting oil to our fingertips from other body surfaces. I'm updating this again to show another point: the myth that what you eat (or drink) be it oraganic foods, fresh foods, fruit, veggies, etc, etc, etc, is false. The severity or occurence of acne does not depend on what you ingest or digest. Any dermatologist will tell you the same. :)

Go to your gp and get a prescription... not of tablets though as i heard that they only work for a while.. also i think that going on the sunbed periodically helps clear your skin!

Drink lots of water. It's practically free and works wonders. Except you have to pee a lot.

Mix lemon juice, rose water and glycerin in equal quantities. Apply daily before retiring to bed. Eat a lot of green vegetables like spinach, cabbage, beans, peas, lettuce, etc. A salad and fruit should be taken daily. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.

OK go to walmart and get this stuff called equate facial cleanser, then equate apricot scrub, and then equate astringent ..OK ( FYI equate is walmart brand) first wash your face with the facial cleanser ,then rinse, then use the apricot scrub work into a good lather and rinse ,and finally get a cotton ball or some tissue and wet it with the astringent and smooth all over your face it will sting a bit not real bad it is just so you can unclog your pores.. or buy the oxy pads in the black jar with the red writing. they work great too ..but i recommend the equate stuff. just do it in the AM and before bed in the PM

umm much much? - 2008-02-25 16:27:00
the best thing for me is garnier acne prone cleanser and olaydaily mostrizer every day (morning and night) but when i have a major breakout i actually use vicks vapour rub. It sounds really weird but it actually opens up the skin and lets it breath which gets rid of the acne quickly. Use some toothpaste on it too cause it tends to dry it up. If you use vicks, toothpaste, lotion, and cleanser it gets rid of a major and huge breakout in less than 3 days.

Daily drink 4 glasses of fresh (preferably organic) vegetable juice. Home made or from a juice bar. Things like carrots, cabbage, leafy greens, cucumber, celery, beetroot etc….are great for improving your skin. Daily drink 8 glasses of filtered water. Find a natural cleanser (organic 100% coconut oil is great) and cleanse your face every night before bed and first thing in the morning. Avoid commercial chemical type skin products, they actually make acne worse. Avoid or at least limit, processed flours and reined sugars – cakes and fizzy sodas. Avoid or at least limit, red meat and all processed meat sandwich slices. .

The best BEST products I have found for acne and the scars is the Unblemish line of products from Rodan and Fields Dermatology. It works in the matter of a week and the stuff is amazing. I would suggest checking out the website under the different lines. I use the UNBLEMISH Regime which comes with an acne medicated cleanser, toner, and acne medicated lotion. I had oily skin and really bad breakouts and my skin has never looked better! Seriously! All the products are medicated and VERY gentle! Take a look at it: http://www.rodanandfields.com Rodan + Field are the dermatologists that created Proactiv but sold that line and came up with improved products. The UNBLEMISH products worked WAY better for me because they are medicated and contain botanicals, so it's much more soothing, yet VERY effective! And if you do decide to get anything if you put the insider code REPRF11091 you get 10% off, free shipping, and free products. I would recommend getting the UNBLEMISH regime and using it as directed- this will be the most effective way to get rid of the acne- FAST. It's about $135 but it will last about 2 months and I guarantee you'll see and love the results. Please, let me know if you have any questions!! Good luck!! Lori :) Honestly, I would try it. They have so many stories of how it's changed people's lives.

Caucasian Kefir, a natural, God given, pro-biotic drink (which you ferment yourself with the Kefir culture grain in milk, so it's dirt cheap!!) to fix skin problems and many many more ailments from the inside out. It will treat acne much faster than Roaccutane, and has no known side effects, you can't beat nature!!! Search the internet for "Caucasian Kefir." Some people give it away free if you can't find it free search at ebay or other online sites that sell it. Here is a testimonial Posted: Sat Dec 01, 2007 5:03 am Post subject: Acne gone in three weeks, wow!! I'm 49 years old and developed acne in my early 40's. My son had acne as a teenager and went on roaccutane (horrific drug). It cured his acne, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it. My daughter had serious cystic acne and wanted to go on roaccutane as well recently, which I was very much against, but she is 20 years old and has suffered for years. It has scarred her back, chest, her upper arms, and of course her face. I couldn't understand why we had this problem, because we have the perfect diet (I thought). I was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer five years ago and we did a drastic change of diet, as in extreme healthy. Also, there is no history of skin disorders on either side of the family. The skin problems, however, persisted. Four months ago I started making kefir with kefir grains that I bought on the internet... if you google you will find several suppliers. Also some people will send them for free. I happened to start taking Udo's oil and fish oil at the same time. It was a coincidence. My skin was clear within three weeks. My daughter had just finished a course of antibiotics for her skin (very much against my wishes as I think that in most cases antibiotics are a waste of time and dangerous to boot), and was clamouring for the roaccutane. I had to persuade her to use the kefir and flax oil/fish oil combination. She's used to me trying out all sorts of combinations over the years. Finally she gave in and within three weeks (NOT kidding here, it happened so fast, just like for me) she was clear. We drink the kefir and take the oils at the same time. I looked up 'Kefir Flax oil' in google and came up with Dr. Johanna Budwig, who was a German scientist who claimed to cure cancer with a flaxseed/quark (kefir, cottage cheese...) combination. It sounds far-fetched but actually she was nominated for a noble prize six times. Alot of info on good fats/oils was discovered by her. On top of clearing our skin beautifully (no lumps, bumps, irritations of any kind... we have great energy. This has worked for us and I wanted to share it. Caucasian Kefir cultured milk instructions: From Barry Hilton who has been using Kefir for many years. Acne and Excema Treatment: Drink half a litre daily; moreover, rub some (36/48 hrs fermented Kefir Cultured Milk) into the affected areas. LEAVE CRUST (which forms) dry and do not remove at night. Clean off the following morning. Even some cases of severe excema heals after 4 days and you will be amazed how quickly it will treat Acne. (18/24 hrs fermented Kefir Culture Milk).
