Does an Indian student who is very proficient in English still have to write the TOEFL in addition to the GRE?

I've spoken English all my life and in fact I know no other language! My family is full of Literature-buffs, so needless to say, everyone speaks the Queen's English. When applying to American Graduate Schools for a Master's Degree in Psychology, will I still have to write the TOEFL, simply because I'm Indian? I am taking the GRE. Won't those scores be sufficient to demonstate my proficiency, since its a far more difficult test than the TOEFL?

I don't know about American Universities, but I had to do the TOEFL for a Canadian University. But I think that if you can prove that English is your first language and that you studied in an English speeking school system you will be given an exemption.
