How good or bad is a score of 350 on the TOEFL test?

In order for my friend, whom does not speak much English, to attend school in Michigan, she needs to score 350 on the TOEFL test. She can say hello, how are you, and other common phrases and expressions, but nothing else. Will she score at least 350 with that?

I know some native Engish speakers who wrote the toefl test and failed it. There are four sections in the toefl test, reading, writing, listening and speaknig. If you pass three of these and you fail the fourth, you fail the whole test. Most students do well in reading, listening and speaking but they fail the writing section. Tell your friend to focus on citations (the name of the author and the date of puplication), they care a lot about that. Also, In speaking tell her NOT to focus on sentence structure a lot , because they care about her ability to communicate. As long as they understand what she is saying she will pass the speaking section otherwise she will get confused and she will fail. For reading, the best way is to find matching words in the question and the answers and hopefully she will do well. For listening, let her listen to english TV or radio as much as she can before the test. Good luck.
