I know I need the subject test. Do I also need to take a general exam?
Best Answer:
Yes, you have to take both the GRE-general and the GRE-Lit exams. All of the half-decent programs require the GRE Lit, and all programs require the GRE general. Check out each individual program's application requirements for the specifics on this... and good friggin luck! start studying right now if you plan on taking the lit test next fall. you'll need that time to prep. it is MUCH harder than the general GRE. go to a bookstore and get a practice exam, like now -- take it, sit through the entire thing in a closed environment, and score yourself. figure out where you go wrong and work on that for the next six months. take a hundred practice exams. it will definitely help. and again, GOOD LUCK.
