How can I get a scholarship for college?

Pineapple - 2006-07-05 15:16:39 - Financial Aid

I am going to be a sophmore in college. I have financial aid but I still have to pay so much money for college, and I already have loans. I've applied for all these scholarships but I never win any. I'm a good student, I have a 3.1 GPA. I payed alot for school last year and this year I have to pay even more. Do you know any type of scholarship did is pretty much guareenteed to me, or at least have a pretty good chance in getting?

Best Answer:

Even though a 3.1 GPA is great, a lot of scholarships like to single out the 3.5 and above. Have you considered tuition waivers from your college or program you are in? There are certain programs, unfortunately, that just simply do not have the funding or endorsement that others do, and some programs, unfortunately, are just simply going to cost more out of your own pocket. I would get with your college counselor, and see if they can shed any new light for you. Best of luck!!!

Depends on what degree your persuing. Sometime they have special scolarships just for people persuing that particular degree. I would talk to your school personally and ask them. Also they may have some on the fafsa website. Just act like your mexican or international student and you are garanteed one.

If you live on your own you can apply for a pell grant, but if you live at home they go by your parents income, there is still a possibility you could get it . Also go on line and type is school grants and see whats out there.

depending on your major: coop-work 1/2 year and go to school 1/2 year private sponsor (like industry or goverment agency-NASA for example) Join the military (not the best time though) Which area of the country are you in?

Nope. You won't get any scholarships with a 3.1 GPA because that only puts you in the middle of the pack. Why should you get one when so many others are doing better than you? Get a part time job, live at home, or take a year off and work full time while living at home. Or else keep going into debt. That's life. Oh, you could also meet and marry a rich widow.
